We are delighted and grateful for your decision to register your child/children at St. Michael School! After what was hopefully a fun, relaxing, and enjoyable summer, we will be looking forward to an exciting and academically challenging school year. All of our back to school information can be found below. Please read this post in its entirety and be sure to follow the instructions.
You were emailed the paperwork for the 2024-25 school year in last Friday’s Welcome Back email. If you haven’t already, please print and fill out the necessary forms and return them to the school office on the “Forms Drop Off Days”, August 15th and 16th. Students will not be allowed to begin school it these forms and paperwork are not complete.
- First Day of School – Wednesday, August 21st

- Half Day Early Dismissal … Please check your Welcome Back email from last Friday for dismissal times and parking lot spot assignments.

- Bus Service
Bus service begins 8/21 provided the bus company supplies us with route information in a timely manner. ALL K-8 students residing within Orland School District 135 boundaries will be given bus route assignments (regardless of plans to utilize bus service). This is not something parents request-it is done automatically by address. If you wish to decline either AM or PM bus service for the 2024-2025 school year, FILL OUT THIS FORM ASAP.**If you do not decline bus service and live in Orland School District 135, we will send your K-8 child (ren) home on the bus. This form must be filled out if you do not want us to send your K-8 child(ren) home from school on the bus.** District 135 will provide specific route and time details next week. We will get that information to families as soon as we receive it. Please reach out to Mrs. Morrissey at [email protected] with any questions.
- School Supplies
- Grades 1 – 8, please bring your school supplies on the first and /or second days of school, Wednesday, August 21st. (Day 1 – school supplies, Day 2 – paper towels, wipes, etc.)
- Preschool and Kindergarten – please look for school supply information in an email from your teacher.
- If you purchased a supply kit, it will be in your child’s classroom on their first day of school.
- Assignment Notebooks & Pencil Cases will be available for sale in the school office during the first week of school. Please send your students with the below form and cash or check payment. S10 each – one size pencil case.

- FSA Hot Dog Day
- Hot Dog Day will be the first Wednesday of the month (unless noted) from September
thru April. The Hot Dog meal consists of 1 or 2 Hot Dogs and Chips. Please fill out THIS FORM, (one form per family). Make your check for the total amount due payable to “St. Michael School” and return the complete form and check to school in an envelope labeled HOT DOG DAY during “Drop Off Days”, August 15th & 16th. - Family and School Association (FSA)
- The Saint Michael Family and School Association (FSA) is a non-profit volunteer group. FSA organizes social events and carries out other auxiliary functions for the school. The annual dues of $40 per family have been added to your tuition. FSA is always looking for volunteers to help with events and committees. Please contact [email protected] if interested.
- SMS Dad’s Club
- Dad’s Club meets monthly and hosts numerous events throughout the year including the Back to School BBQ, Barn Dance, and Irish Fest. If you are interested in volunteering, please email Sean Collins at [email protected].
