Mental Health Resources

A letter from our school counselor, Mrs. Katie Wells:

Everyone deserves good mental health. This season may generate stress, pressure, anxiety, or
even depression. Children and teens are reporting more anxiety and depression since COVID-
19, and parents are seeking out more resources. The following handbook is an excellent
resource that includes mental health topics such as anxiety, depression, school refusal, therapy,
and mental health support services. I have also shared a resource that provides helpful
language for parents to use during times of worry for their children.

As always, if you are concerned about your student(s), please contact either their teacher, Mrs.
Wells, Mrs. Morrissey, or Mr.Smith and we will help support them at school. If you are
concerned about your student over the holiday break when school is not in session, please
contact your pediatrician for immediate support. Your pediatrician can provide outside of school
social/emotional/mental health referrals.

Linden Oaks Behavioral Health Center in Mokena also offers mental health services and
programs specifically for adolescents, and is a great local resource.
