In order to to continue our aggressive push towards keeping our students on the cutting edge of technology, students in grades 4-8 will begin the 2016-17 school year in a 1:1 Chromebook environment. Grades K-3 will have ample access to almost 100 iPads available for their daily use.

Digital Citizenship

SMS is committed to promoting academic excellence through an integrated, contemporary curriculum rooted in Gospel values and taught in a faith community. By focusing classroom time on digital citizenship, we prepare students to be confident, connected, and responsible lifelong learners.

It is not about the technology (tool); it’s about sharing knowledge and information, communicating efficiently, building learning communities and creating a culture of professionalism in schools.

Technology Curriculum Overview

With that as the guiding principle, the K-8 technology curriculum incorporates a wide range of skills and activities into each grade level, building each year so that every student will have the essential knowledge and skills to move up to the next grade level. Our curriculum strives to provide students the skills they need to be able to use technology to analyze, learn, and explore.
