St. Michael is a Catholic elementary school educating a diverse group of students from the larger community of St. Michael Parish. St. Michael School is the beginning of your child’s lifelong educational and spiritual journey. The journey is full of hope and promise – a Christ-centered community that provides a caring environment emphasizing academics, moral values and discipline.
We are committed to promoting academic excellence through an integrated, contemporary curriculum rooted in Gospel values and taught in a faith community. Our mission calls us to teach the message of Jesus, to encourage service to others, and to prepare students for lifelong and responsible citizenship. Here at St. Michael School, we truly believe that “Jesus is the reason”.
SMS thrives under the four tenets of Knowledge, Faith, Hope and Guidance.
Knowledge: From Preschool through eighth grade, St. Michael School is academically progressive and sound.
Faith: By maintaining a strong Catholic identity, our children learn to live their faith and to serve others.
Hope: We strive to provide our students with a well-rounded education, balancing all aspects of their studies in an effort to give them a greater understanding of the world around them
Guidance: Our faculty consists of dedicated teachers who average 20 years of experience in Catholic education. Many of these fine individuals hold advanced degrees. All of our teachers participate in continuing education programs to ensure that their skills remain current.
Philosophy of Education
We believe education is a never ending process of growth and challenge. Education enriches the whole person; soul, mind and body. We believe that parents are the primary educators of their children and together with teachers facilitate the learning process. We believe children learn and succeed in a caring atmosphere where they are given the opportunity to see their own value.
Catholic education strives to reinforce the principles and values of Church, home and community in an effort to mold tomorrow’s citizens. Therefore, we strive to create and to maintain an environment for this growth and challenge.
